We closed the booths on Sunday, March 29, as part of the measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 as the country went into lockdown. We carried out the appropriate risk assessment in accordance with government guidance to be ‘COVID Secure’ and have put in the place the relevant measures to ensure both customers and staff are safe.

We reopened the booths on Monday 29th June.

To help keep everyone safe, we ask that you only use cards and/or contactless to make payments when using the toll booths. We have installed new card payment machines on the outside of the booths for ease of access.

We open our booths based on demand and operational feasibility. Please be assured we are monitoring usage 24/7, 365 days a year. Please be aware there may be minor delays during shift changes to ensure handovers remain ‘COVID Secure’.

No – the ORT is for Tag account customers and pre-approved exemptions only. If you want to continue to use the Tag Lane, please apply for a Humbertag Account online at www.Humbertag.com.

At the Toll booths, you can pay by credit or debit card – using chip and pin or contactless. We also have the ability to process payments using Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay using your mobile phone.

No – unfortunately, we will not be taking cash payments at this time and we will only accept card. This is to minimise the spread of the infection by limiting contact between staff and customers.

In the wake of the COVID pandemic, we have seen unprecedented numbers of HumberTAG applications as people recognise it is the cheapest, most efficient and safest way to cross the Humber Bridge.

However, this has left us low on stock and despite having ordered more tags, we have been forced to close applications until they arrive.

Yes – please ensure that you collect tickets from Castle Hill and use the toll booths to hand them in as per the previous arrangements.

The Tag lanes, otherwise known as the Open Road Tolling (ORT) lanes, are the two inside lanes on the run-up to the toll gantry on the north side of the bridge.

No – this may cause an accident and will be classed as dangerous driving by the Police.  Once you have travelled onto the bridge – you MUST cross.

We’ve added the option to automatically top-up your HumberTag Account when your balance is running low, so you don’t ever have to worry about adding funds.

How it works:

  • Log Into your account at www.humbertag.com 
  • Choose Account Summary Section
  • Set your low balance warning level
  • Make an initial payment choosing the Automatic Payment type and of the amount you wish to be taken each time your balance drops below your warning level.
  • Please be aware auto top-up payments to your account will stop when your bank card expires. You will need to re-setup the payment again with a new card.

Yes, we will always keep one footpath open, unless we suffer extreme weather or there is a serious incident. When we can, we will have both footways open, however, sometimes due to essential maintenance work, this is not possible and on these occasions, we will provide plenty of notice. You can check prior to your journey by looking at the widget on the front page of the Humber Bridge website www.humberbridge.co.uk.

Our priority is to make sure the bridge is kept in good condition, so everyone can use it safely, whether for leisure or commuting.

The Humber Regional COVID 19 testing site is currently situated within our car parking area.

However, we do have a small amount of parking available in the Lorry park (first car park as you enter our site).
