Calling budding young writers!

We are delighted to launch a new community competition for 2022

The Humber Bridge Short Story/Poem Competition is for primary school children (Key Stages 1 & 2) across Hull, East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire, and North East Lincolnshire, and gives them the chance to show their artistic flair to the world!
We are inviting local primary school pupils to write and send us imaginative short stories (or poems) with jazzy drawings about a cherished memory or experience involving the Humber Bridge.
Though we ask the story/poem to be inspired by an actual memory, we strongly encourage students to express themselves as creatively as possible, and to even include drawings! Entries can be submitted from 7th February to 18th May 2022. The winners will be announced in July, prior to the school summer holidays.
We will collect the best entries and create a wonderful digital storybook at the end of the school year.  There will be a winner and runner-up of each Key Stage, whose entries will form the start of the book. The shortlisted entries will also be included in the book.
The digital storybook will be available for all to download for free from our website! The two winners will each receive a £50 National Book Token, while the two runners-up will each receive one for £25. Wow! They will also be gifted lovingly printed hard copies of the book!
To enter, print off the PDF template for the student to complete, and once completed scan it and return it back to us using the form below!
