How do guest crossings work?
One of the major benefits of Humber Bridge Toll is that you’re able to pay for your crossing immediately. However, you must do so no later than midnight the day after crossing, to avoid a £25 admin charge.
If you choose not to open a Humber Bridge Toll Account, you can still pay for your bridge crossing easily by purchasing “Guest Crossings“. You can purchase these Guest Crossings in advance (up to 12 months ahead) so you are covered before you travel.
Already crossed? No problem. Just purchase your crossings before midnight the next day and our system will automatically match the payment to your journey.
Please note Guest Crossings do not provide a receipt linked to a specific crossing date or time – to get this you need an account.
For full visibility of your trips and to pay less for each crossing (e.g. 50p cheaper on every car crossing) opening an account is the simplest option, especially with Auto Top Up so everything runs in the background.

What Happens if the Payment Window is Missed?
At midnight, an Unpaid Toll Notification (UTN) will be triggered and an admin fee of £25 will be added to the toll that’s owed. You will then receive a letter with details of the money you owe and how to pay.
This means that if you cross on a Monday, you have until midnight on Tuesday to pay the toll. But as soon as the clock turns midnight, an Unpaid Toll Notification will be triggered.
This applies seven days a week, bringing the Humber Bridge into line with other toll crossings in England.
