Friday 26th – Monday 29th April: M180 Closure Between Junctions 2 and 3

National Highways are continuing their essential repairs on the M180 Mutton Lane Bridge (near Outmill) this weekend. This will require a full closure of the M180 in BOTH directions between Junctions 2 and 3, starting at 8pm on Friday 26th April and continuing through the weekend until Monday 29th April at 6am.

Fully signed diversions will be in place, and details of these can be found at National Highways’ website via the following link. https://nationalhighways.co.uk/our-roads/yorkshire-and-north-east/yorkshire-and-north-east-maintenance-schemes/

Please note that the Humber Bridge is NOT part of the official diversion route. However, if you are planning to cross the Bridge this weekend please be mindful that there may be a significant increase of traffic in the area.  Please check Google Maps, or a similar traffic app, for guidance before setting off and allow extra time for your journey.

Works Friday 12th April – Monday 15th April

This weekend we are continuing our essential maintenance on the Humber Bridge, which means that there will be some traffic management in place between 8pm on Friday 12th April until the early hours on Monday 15th April.

Due to the nature of the works, there will be times during this period that require a temporary contraflow to be in place between the Toll Booths and just South of Hessle Tower.

These essential works are in their final stages and we thank you for your continued patience over the past few months.

Please allow extra time for your journey if travelling during this time, and please drive carefully through the roadworks.

Works This Week

We have essential work taking place this week, and following the delays at the weekend we have made a number of changes to minimise the impact as much as possible.

Between 9:30am and 3:00pm on both this Wednesday and Thursday (20th and 21st March) we will need to close a lane on both the northbound and southbound sides of the bridge, between Hessle and Barton towers. The toll booths and tag lanes will be unaffected. By carrying out these works during the above times, we will be able to avoid disruption during the busiest travel times.

Also, between 8pm Friday (22nd March) and the early hours of Monday morning (25th March) we are continuing our important maintenance on some expansion joints on the Humber Bridge itself. Due to the nature of the works, there will be times during this period that require a temporary contraflow to be in place between the Toll Booths and just South of Hessle Tower.

All being well, this will complete the works on the expansion joints on the northbound side of the bridge. There will be similar works on the southbound side in the coming weeks, which we will announce nearer the time. There are no works planned to take place during the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. We thank you for your continued patience over the past few months.

Please note that throughout the above works you will still be able to cross the Bridge in either direction with or without a HumberTag. However, you will need to follow the signage and adhere to all traffic management.

Please allow extra time for your journey if travelling during this time, and drive carefully through the roadworks.

Works 14th – 18th March

This Thursday (14th March) we will be finishing our essential maintenance to replace the expansion joints on Ferriby Road Bridge.

To facilitate this, from 8pm Thursday until early Friday morning, there will be traffic management in place both northbound and southbound.

Also, between 6pm Friday (15th March) and the early hours of Monday morning (18th March) we are continuing our essential maintenance on some expansion joints on the Humber Bridge itself. Due to the nature of the works, this will require a contraflow in place between the Toll Booths and just South of Hessle Tower.

Please note that throughout these works you will still be able to cross the Bridge in either direction with or without a HumberTag. However, you will need to follow the signage and adhere to all traffic management.

These essential works are now entering their final stages and we thank you for your continued patience over the past few months.

Please allow extra time for your journey if travelling during this time, and please drive carefully through the roadworks.

Public Toilets Temporary Closure

Due to recent vandalism, the public toilets in our car parks unfortunately require maintenance and will be closed for a little while starting Monday 11th March 2024

Closing the toilets is a measure of last resort, and although our Estates team has been diligently working to address these issues as they arise we need a longer period of closure to allow us to catch-up. We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this causes to the many people who use our facilities in a respectful and appropriate way.

When the toilets are due to reopen, we will communicate this on our social media. If you’re planning to visit the local area in the near future, your nearest alternative facilities are Hessle Foreshore
