Tolls and Ways to Pay

Whether you’re an occasional visitor, regular commuter, or business customer, this page explains everything you need to know about paying for your Humber Bridge crossings.

Toll Prices

The Humber Bridge is a toll bridge, which means that you need to pay a toll every time you cross – though motorcycles and approved concessions go free.

The amount you pay depends on your vehicle type, so please check your vehicle classification below before travelling. Account holders also benefit from discounted toll rates.

Concessions

We provide free Humber Bridge crossings to people who are disabled (provided that they open a Humber Bridge Toll Account and apply for their concession) and are in receipt of certain benefits. There are also other concessions that apply in certain circumstances.

How to Pay

All crossings must be paid by midnight the day after crossing. You can pay your toll after crossing or up to 12 months before. The ways to pay are:

You don’t need an account to pay for your crossings, though there are benefits to having one (such as receiving up to 25% off your crossings).

You can pay for up to 10 crossings individually; either up to 12 months before you cross, or by midnight the day after crossing. When a crossing is paid for without an account, it is called a Guest Crossing.

Simply choose the option that works for you.

Opening an account is simple. You’ll need £10 of pre-paid credit to get started, plus £5 credit for each vehicle you want to register (up to 5 vehicles in total for a personal account or 2,000 vehicles for a business account).

It’s important that you keep your account in credit: you won’t be able to run your account with a negative balance.

If you cross without sufficient credit in your account, then you must add the necessary funds by midnight the day after crossing, otherwise a £25 admin fee will be added per crossing and you’ll receive an Unpaid Toll Notification.

The easiest way to avoid admin fees is to enable the Auto Top Up function – just set it up once and you never have to worry about running out of credit.

If payment is not received within the required timeframe, a £25 admin fee will be added to the amount owed and an Unpaid Toll Notification will be issued. You will then receive a letter with details of the money you owe and how to pay.
